The whole creation waits breathless with anticipation for the revelation of God’s sons and daughters. – Romans 8:19 CEB
My name is Derrick Scott III, and Luruth is my middle name. For many years, I only had a middle initial. My thirties changed that. It’s interesting how growth and maturity bring the courage to embrace who you are as well as the continued evolution of daily life. Reclaiming my middle name was one of many unique details on the journey of loving my life and learning to lose it for the sake of Jesus.
I am first a follower of Jesus. I seek to offer everything I do, all that I have and all that I am in response to all God has done for me.
I am a worship leader, campus minister, United Methodist, history graduate, accounting disciple, and happily single.
I love eating sushi, flying on Delta, pouring craft beer, talking theology, arguing over politics, introverting all day, and taking care of my dogs Winston and Ralphie.
I have an awesome family, amazing friends and the best support system anyone could ever ask for. I live a fast-paced life and I would not have it any other way. So as often as I can, I will post reflections from my journey on this site. I pray that it would inspire you to embrace who you are and all that you can be. The whole world is waiting for people like that.
