My name is Derrick Scott III, and Luruth is my middle name. I believe all of life flows from our spiritual being. The deeper we go into understanding who we are as souls, the more we are able to experience life in its fullness. Whether it is a Northeast Florida university campus or my local United Methodist congregation, a craft brewery in Jacksonville or a meeting of minds somewhere in the US, my goal is to inspire individuals to steward this moment we are in by holding space for all to bring their true selves.

I am first a follower of Jesus. I seek to offer everything I do, all that I have and all that I am in response to all God has done for me. My passion is raising up a new generation of leaders and laborers who will live as disciples of Jesus Christ to transform the world.

I am a proud black man, campus minister, United Methodist Lay Leader, Cicerone Certified Beer Server, history graduate, accounting disciple, gay/same gender loving and textbook introvert.

I love eating sushi, flying on Delta, pouring craft beer, talking theology, and taking care of my Chihuahua-mix dog Winston and Bengal cat Julian.

I have an awesome family, amazing friends and the best support system anyone could ever ask for. I hope these posts will inspire you to embrace who you are and all that you can be. The whole world is waiting for people like that.
