"It's not what we're doing that's causing His grace; He's just giving it freely." - Diana Davis

We're continuing our conversations in season 2 around mental health. In this episode, Derrick and Sara interview Jacksonville area Counselor Diana Davis. Prior to entering the mental health field, Diana worked as a lawyer and then as a full-time caretaker for her young children. It was her own experience in counseling which helped her discover her true calling. She obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Jacksonville University. While pursuing her degree, she also completed her clinical internship at JU’s Student Counseling Center. There she gained valuable experience working with young adults and adults on a variety of presenting concerns including depression and anxiety, relationship issues, identity formation, stress and sleep issues, addiction, ADHD, bipolar disorder, suicidality, self-confidence and self-concept, adjustment disorder, and much more.

Diana uses empathic understanding to connect with clients and to create a space
where they can truly be themselves. Diana’s counseling philosophy is that every client is
unique and already possesses an inner wisdom, which outside influences have taught
them to doubt or to ignore. With deep compassion, Diana helps clients learn to trust
their inner voice again and reconnect with their authentic self. We're excited to share this episode with you!
